Our Teachers

My name is Miriam Aguilar, and I have had the privilege of being the director at El Pescadito Learning Center for the past 20 years. Working in childcare has always been my passion because I’ve had a deep love for children since a young age. Witnessing their growth and development brings me immense joy. Over the years, I have honed my skills in early childhood education, understanding the unique needs of each child and providing them with a nurturing environment to thrive. It’s incredibly fulfilling to play a role in shaping their young minds and watching them blossom into confident and curious individuals. Working in childcare has been a rewarding journey, and I look forward to many more years of making a positive impact on the lives of children.

Philosophy

my childcare philosophy centers around creating a nurturing and engaging environment for children that fosters their holistic development. Our program is based on Spanish immersion and bilingualism, aiming to cultivate a deep appreciation for language and cultural diversity from an early age. We believe in providing a balanced approach to learning, combining structured activities with ample opportunities for imaginative play and exploration. Our dedicated team of educators nurtures each child’s unique strengths and interests, encouraging them to become confident, curious, and independent learners. We strive to create a warm and inclusive community where children feel safe, loved, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Location

Welcome to El Pescadito Learning Center! Our program is nestled in the cozy setting of a family home, providing a warm and nurturing environment for children. Located near Walker Field Park, we have the privilege of incorporating nature walks and outdoor play into our daily routines. Situated in the charming Rum Village neighborhood, we are surrounded by a vibrant community that fosters a sense of belonging and connection. At El Pescadito, we strive to create a space where children can learn, grow, and explore in a setting that feels like a second home.

About our program

El Pescadito Learning Center is an exceptional childcare facility that I am proud to be a part of. As a Spanish immersion program, we provide a rich and immersive environment for our students to learn the language and embrace diverse cultures. It is truly a joy to witness our students’ growth and see them confidently communicate in Spanish. We believe in the importance of family and celebrate every milestone, including graduations and holidays, with utmost respect for our students and their families. At El Pescadito, we foster a nurturing and inclusive community where every child feels valued and supported on their learning journey.
