Bright Horizons teachers are the heart of our program — people with the skills, the passion, and the dedication to make early education their career. Parents have called Bright Horizons teachers “amazing” and “magical” for their remarkable ability to figure out what makes each child tick, and then zero in on those very things to support big milestones and ordinary moments. We support them with our own award-winning training, as well as with learning opportunities to further advance their careers and skills through training, certificates, and college degrees. In 2018, we became the first early learning organization to pay for teachers to go to college, and we continue to blaze new trails. From our nationally recognized eCDA Child Development Associate credential to the free Associates and Bachelor Degrees offered via our Horizons Teacher Degree Program, we continually invest in the teaching profession, with the goal of providing the very best for both the children in our centers, and the teachers in our field.

At the Julia & Nicholas Runnebohm Early Learning Center, children delve into Discovery Driven Learning™, fostering their innovative problem-solving abilities while exploring the world around them. Our approach, World at Their Fingertips®, encompasses a comprehensive curriculum that nurtures a child’s whole development, encompassing STEM, literacy, social-emotional wellness, the arts, and more. We believe in honoring the wonder of childhood, supporting children’s interests, and laying a strong foundation of skills and knowledge. The Julia & Nicholas Runnebohm Early Learning Center is Located in the Intelliplex Certified Technology Park in Shelbyville, a dynamic environment with access to critical resources assist in the growth of life science and technology companies and help them flourish. Through the efforts of Major Health Partners of Shelbyville, the city of Shelbyville, and Shelby County, Intelliplex has become a catalyst for high-tech growth in the region. In addition, Ivy Tech Community College and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology reside in the Park, providing an improved environment for cradle to career initiatives. Situated on a tree-lined walking path with easy access to I-74, everything from the Shelby County YMCA to restaurants are just a short walk away. We’re a short drive away from Shelbyville’s newly renovated downtown, and the Shelby County Library. Once downtown, you’re just steps to the Blue River Trail, a a roughly 3.5 mile long trail running from Lee Boulevard Trail, through Blue River Park, along the banks of the Blue River, through Kennedy Park, through downtown, Connects to the Knauf Greenway, past Sunset Park and the Sunset Park Loop Trail, past the baseball diamonds, to the West Side Connector.
