Teachers at the Brown County Schools Early Education Center hold a minimum of Child Development Associate Certificate with some holding Associate through Master Degrees in Early Childhood Education. Our Director is a licensed teacher approved to teach Dual Credit courses in Early Childhood Education at Ivy Tech Community College. Your child’s experience at the BCS-ECE will also be enriched by our Brown County high school students under the supervision of their ECE program of study instructor.

At the Brown County Early Education Center, we believe that building relationships with preschoolers through communication, conversation and play is essential for their social and emotional development. We use the Creative Curriculum for Toddlers and Creative Curriculum for Preschoolers. Essential strategies for effectively connecting with and engaging young children include active listening, using simple language, engagement in play, being patient and respectful, showing empathy, and using play to teach just to name a few.

The Brown County Schools Early Education Center is a licensed child care center located on the Nashville campus of Brown County Schools in the Brown County Educational Services Center. In addition to our Nashville location, the Brown County Schools Early Education Program has preschool classrooms for children ages 3-5 years in each of our elementary schools.
