Valarie Solomon, Director
Valarie holds an associate degree in Business Administration and a bachelors degree in Accounting. After almost 20 years in the business field, Valarie switched her focus to education in pursuit of her love for teaching and to ensure her own child’s special needs were met. In 2013, Valarie opened a licensed home daycare & preschool and continues to learn and improve her program. In 2016, Valarie obtained the Child Development Associate (CDA) credential and participates in a minimum of 20 hours of continued education courses each year. She is also pursuing the online Certificate in Early Education Leadership (CEEL) from Harvard graduate school of education. Valarie enjoys working in a small group setting where she can provide individualized learning and develop a relationship with the families she serves. In addition, Valarie goes through extensive licensing requirements to insure the safety and wellbeing of the children in her care. Some of those requirements include first aid training, CPR certification, and national background checks.
Valarie was born and raised in Indiana and has resided in or near the Southside of Indianapolis since 1998. She has been happily married since 1998 and has two children. Her daughter attends IU Bloomington and her son attends school in the Franklin Township district. In her free time, Valarie enjoys spending time with her family, collecting plants, gardening, and exploring the outdoors with her two Standard Poodles, Papi and George.
Philosophy
The mission of Go Bananas! Childcare is to provide high quality, safe, fun, and educational childcare for the families of Franklin Township and surrounding communities. I am committed to the families and community I serve and welcome all families into my home environment. Children are encouraged to work at their own pace, with special attention given to the child’s individual needs. I value family partnership and offer support and encouragement throughout the child’s development. Together we can help each child reach their full potential and prepare them for success.
About our program
Go Bananas! has been a licensed play-based childcare and preschool home in Franklin Township since 2012. Our program utilizes the strategies of the award winning and nationally recognized Creative Curriculum and Learning Without Tears Curriculum to help achieve age-appropriate developmental milestones and prepare for school readiness. They are aligned to The Foundations to Indiana’s Academic Standards and cover social, cognitive, emotional, physical, language, and creative development.
