Philosophy

Day Early Learning’s Theory of Teaching and Learning believes that every child is competent & capable, learns through relationships with adults and peers, constructs knowledge from diverse experiences, learns and develops at a unique and individual pace, and is constantly learning. As a result of these core beliefs, we are committed to ensuring every child has access to the educational resources they need to thrive.

About our program

Day Early Learning Center for Infants & Toddlers focuses exclusively on the development and care of children ages 6 weeks to 36 months. Located one mile west of Methodist Hospital, we are conveniently located for families working at IU Health as well as families who work at or attend IUPUI and Ivy Tech, and families who live on the near-West side of Indianapolis.

At Day Early Learning Center for Infants & Toddlers, your child will learn and grow in a safe, nurturing environment. This center has six spacious classrooms, an indoor gross motor area, and a great outdoor natural playground environment. Each of our infant rooms also has a private nursing room for mothers. Classrooms are designed to provide a fun learning environment and are outfitted with developmentally appropriate learning materials to allow your child to explore and learn. This center is an Early Head Start site. Early Head Start is a model early childhood program for infants and toddlers that offers high-quality classroom teaching, strong family support and engagement, and coordinated health services. Uniquely, the model calls for teachers to visit the child’s home, learn more about their unique family context and reflect that in their classroom approach and family engagement efforts.
