Filosofía
My First Steps Child Care Program believes that children should be provided a nurturing, active, and challenging environment that encourage curiosity, active learning, values, problem solving, language development, and a positive self- image, and provide a safe and happy environment for children where they can learn and grow at their own pace, provide learning experiences that enable them to develop and accumulate their own knowledge. My program has been created to provide an enriched environment for children early age children, which benefits their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. To meet these goals, I am implementing specific learning centers throughout the learning room including blocks, creative art, sensory/science, library, dramatic play, and manipulatives. The children are providing with a wide variety of materials at each center: Legos, cooking equipment, glue, stickers, dolls, play food, dishes, plants, animals, puzzles, games, art and writing materials, alphabet letters, puppets, dress-up clothes, play dough, books, music, and math manipulatives. I believe children learn through play and benefit from a structured, yet flexible schedule. Children will be taught to respect each other, adults, pet and property. My goal is to teach your child to Communicate, Negotiate, Problem Solve and Get along. If he can learn these skills, then the rest will happen. Every day I offer your child the opportunity develops aspects like Math, Social-studies, Science, Physical Skills, and Personal Care. I believe that each family brings to the program their values, language, diversity, and traditional customs, build a positive relationship with the family of each child in my care, and maintain close communication with the parents of their children’s. If this is the way you would like for your child to play and learn then this is the place for you. I support their play by providing them with the necessary language, so they learn to express themselves appropriately and to become a positive addition to society.
