Director- Chelsea Roxanne (aka Ms. Chelsea):

I spent the majority of my career teaching primarily adults! I was a ballroom dance instructor for 8 years in private and group settings. It was during that time I became fluent in various teaching styles and developed a niche for personalized lesson plans that yielded some truly impressive results in my students. I have been more proud of what they have achieved, than what I ever achieved on my own in the competitive circuit. My education is comprised of a mix of education, business, and science. I love incorporating my past experiences into the classroom. The kids know when they see me with my lab coat on, Ms. Chelsea is going to be doing some magic. I am not too young, not too old, super athletic, and I like to PLAY. My motivation for making the jump to children was a desire to spend more time with my own kids (both enrolled). Prior to the pandemic, I spent a short time as the Assistant Director of a large center serving 100+ kids. Prior to that I taught in a school-aged classroom (ages 5-12) running the before/after school and summer programs. I grew up in child care home ran by my mother (Mrs. Tracy) throughout the 90’s and am no stranger to a full house. Nothing lights my fire more than watching these kids get excited when they succeed…And a good dance party of course.

Guest Teacher- Mrs. Tracy (aka Grandma):

Mrs. Tracy can be seen around the school from time to time and her many talents bring a lot to our environment. With practically a glue gun for a right hand she is a gifted crafter and takes care of all of our baking needs (as any grandma should).

Professor Jethro Hedgehog III (aka Hedgie):

In introduction to our school would not be complete without the mention of our class pet! Hedgie helps teach us responsibility, trust, and body control. We imagine he is British and has a degree in manners.

Filosofía

ACTIVE- Class 1 Childcare Home license- valid through 12/31/23 and will auto renew upon annual inspection.

We respect differences in this school, will always accommodate parents wishes (as long as it is within reason and within the rules and regulations of the state), and strive to meet kids where they’re at. We balance our learning experiences with a mix of large group activities, smaller age-based activities, and 1 on 1 time with teachers. We never underestimate the value of “free play” and designed our school in a way that every child feels free to safely explore their environment. Please contact the director for more information on our discipline policy, how we engage with families, and how we assess children to make sure each child is getting the most out of our program.

Ubicación

Located just 1 block from Southwick Elementary, Prince Chapman Academy, and Paul Harding. These schools already bus children from our school. We also back up to Klotz park, make the occasional trip to the apple orchard across the street, are a stones throw from the East Central Fire Station, and have easy access to I-469.

Acerca de nuestro programa

At A Super Awesome Daycare our goal is to instill a love of learning and community in our next generation of leaders and thinkers. Our mixed age group and diverse classroom allow children additional opportunities to expand their social skills. Children learn through play as well structured activities in preparation for a traditional school environment. Core curriculum include mathematics, literacy, language, social studies, cognition, social/emotional, and physical development. We dabble in the sciences, divulge in all walks of art, and incorporate technology in the classroom. Above all our focus is on strong character development. Our pride and joy is our half acre playground allowing plenty of opportunity to run, play, and explore nature.

“Your kids have the rest of their childhood to learn their ABC’s and 123’s. The time to learn healthy relationships, morals, and develop a strong sense of self is now. Yes, at my school they’ll learn both, but kids leave here ready to take on the world not just the classroom.”- Ms. Chelsea
