Our Teachers

Our teachers are all dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing and educational classroom for their students. All the Lead teachers have a minimum of a CDA. The teachers strive to build meaningful relationships with their students and parents. The teachers at the Armstrong Early Learning Center strive on creating an environment that best meets the needs of each child’s social, emotional and cognitive development.

Philosophy

Following the Reggio Emilia approach, we believe learning is living. Children learn through real life work, through opportunities given to them that meet their developmental needs.

We believe learning is doing. Children learn though questioning, discovering, and making assumptions in their environment.

We believe learning is playing. Children learn by imitating the world around them, exploring relationships, materials, and figuring out how things work.

We believe learning is social. Children learn through building meaningful relationships, working together, and resolving conflicts amongst each other. Children learn when supportive relationships exist amongst teachers, parents, and children working side by side.

Location

We are located at the Whitley County Family YMCA.
