Philosophy
My Little Blessings believes in a child-centered, self-guided curriculum in a nature-based environment. Providing students the opportunity to guide their learning experiences promotes social skills, community engagement, an enjoyment for learning, confidence, problem solving skills and welcomes new experiences. The nature aspect of our program provides a natural environment for children to learn about themselves, their peers and the world around them. Children who are in control of their learning experiences become lifelong learners. Our goal is to foster each child’s development at their own pace and to trust their natural instinct to learn from the environment and people around them. Social connections, imaginative play experiences, a development for self interests and a love for discovery and exploration are all things that our nature-based program is sure to foster in the students in our program. Our space, equipment, curriculum and staff reflect the values mentioned in this philosophy.
About our program
My Little Blessings is a nature based program that offers a farm to table curriculum. The food that we grow together and harvest is enjoyed at family style meals. We care for chickens and rabbits and enjoy nature walks with our friends on our 5 acre property. In addition to our nature based curriculum we are a school ready program with curriculum that meets all state requirements for school readiness. Our Paths to Quality, level 3, play-based program is a year round program that is Reggio Emilia style. Children are exposed to learning materials and planned lessons that support development in the the areas of social-emotional development, math, science, literacy, art, social studies and physical development. Developmental progress is tracked and shared with parents in parent-teacher conferences.
