Hi, I’m Ellena and I have 4 years of experience working with young children. I previously worked as a teacher in a daycare center and am now thrilled to be opening my own program so I can continue to do what I love and spend time with children every single day. While raising my own three beautiful daughters, I saw how important having a solid foundation of early care is for children and wanted to provide this type of quality care for the young minds to come.

In my spare time, I love to read, do word searches, spend time with family, and just enjoy life. I speak both English and Armenian fluently.

At Just Like Home Family Wonderschool, we introduce age-appropriate academic activities rooted in play-based learning.

Just Like Home Family Child Care and Wonderschool is located in a bright, spacious single family home in the Van Nuys neighborhood. We are 5 minutes from both the 405 and 101. The kids enjoy daily outdoor time in our private backyard. We believe children should have ample opportunity to move around!

Our program is academic and STEAM-focused while still rooted in play. We offer age-appropriate materials and activities to foster a warm and stimulating atmosphere for children.

In our program, children feel safe and free to explore and play. We engage kids in hands on activities that help them acquire basic skills and knowledge to prepare for kindergarten. They also participate in group activities where they learn to interact, cooperate, and share their space with others. We approach learning with a growth mindset.

Meals

Nutritious and wholesome meals are essential for learning. We serve 100% organic, free-range, and whole grain foods. We provide fresh lunch daily, including menu items like soups (vegetable, chicken, beef, lentil, yogurt), grains (barley, buckwheat rice, bulgur, adjar), and spaghetti, as well as homemade pizza every Friday!

Parent communication

We believe keeping in touch with our families is important. We are always open to any form of communication parents prefer, whether that’s through the Wonderschool app, text message, in person, or any other way.

3. Submit an Enrollment Application

If you would like to enroll, please submit an application at www.wonderschool.com/just-like-home-family-child-care-and-wonderschool-3862/apply – Please note that we require tours for all prospective families. Please do not submit an application if you have not visited the program.

4. Enroll

After reviewing your application, we’ll send an enrollment invitation. Upon accepting your invitation you’ll pay your enrollment fee, fill out enrollment documents and review our Parent Handbook.
