David graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2001 with an Education Specialist (EdS) degree. In 2005, he realized his dream of having his own in home childcare program after the birth of his first daughter. His favorite thing about what he does is developing relationships with the children that he teaches and their families. he believes that small class size and the development of a strong community allow him and his team to really know each child as an individual and to provide a solid and supportive foundation in the early years
Filosofía
At our school, we strive to create a safe and caring community of young explorers inspired by the Play Based philosophy. Our program is a place where children can learn through doing, invent through making, and solve problems by working together.
We believe that when children are truly engaged with their environment, magic happens. Our team of experienced and innovative teachers do this by creating a space driven by the interests and ideas of the children who inhabit it.
Ubicación
Our school is a home based program in the city of Piedmont, Ca. We are located on a quiet street close to a large park in the center of town. The school is located in a recently renovated bottom floor space that opens up to a large back yard with lots of space to run and play.
Acerca de nuestro programa
At our school, we teach the concepts of math, science, engineering, art, social sciences and early literacy through our play-based, child-led curriculum. We use the interests and ideas of the children as a jumping off place. The materials are open-ended and invite discovery. Children make their own investigations and draw their own conclusions whenever possible.
