Hello! I am Maricela Magana, the founder of Magana Family Childcare Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because I have loved working with children since I was young. I have 4 years of experience working with young children in my program and previously worked in a preschool center. My program is designed to have the structure of a center with the safety and love of being in your own home.

At Magana Family Childcare Wonderschool, we believe in providing responsible and loving care for your child. We want our program to be an extension of your home, so that children feel as loved and safe as if they are home when they are here. Children will develop physically, emotionally, and socially through the care given in our program.

Magana Family Childcare Wonderschool is located in a spacious, beautiful single family home in the Oxnard neighborhood. We are located near many parks and schools.

We have an outdoor area in a private backyard for children to explore and play in. We believe it is important for children to have plenty of outdoor time in order for them to learn about their natural surroundings, as well as develop hand eye coordination and necessary motor skills for development.

Our program is thoughtfully designed with learning centers for children to play and learn in. We highlight science and learning about the world around us, and children will have plenty of space to explore and choose in a safe but structured learning environment. We provide healthy and nutritious home cooked meals daily, and encourage no screen time for children.

We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include manipulatives and math area (for fine motor skills and beginning math concepts), sensory area (for spatial awareness and learning through the five senses), and reading / cozy area (for literacy, relaxation, and respite).

Come see what makes Magana Family Childcare Wonderschool unique. If we are currently hosting tours, you can request or schedule a tour at the top of this page. If we are not currently hosting tours, you’ll see a “Request Info” button at the top of this page; if you submit your information using this button, we will notify you when we start host tours again in the future.

3. Submit an Enrollment Application

If you would like to enroll, please submit an application. Note that we require tours for all prospective families. Please do not submit an application if you have not visited the program.

4. Enroll

After reviewing your application, we’ll send an enrollment invitation. Upon accepting your invitation you’ll pay your enrollment fee, fill out enrollment documents and review our Parent Handbook.
