Hello! My name is Shawn Hart, and I am proud to continue the legacy started by my grandmother, the founder of Heart to Hart Family Day Care and Wonderschool. Caring for children has always been a part of my life and something I’ve been passionate about since I was young.

I have over 21 years of experience with children — not only as a parent and caregiver, but also as a former student of this very program. In fact, I was raised in the same home where the daycare still operates today and was the very first child enrolled.

Being able to carry on my grandmother’s vision is truly an honor. For over 51 years, Heart to Hart has provided loving, high-quality care and early education to families in our community, and I am excited to continue creating a safe, nurturing, and encouraging environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive.

At Hart to Heart Family Daycare and Wonderschool, we believe that children grow, learn, and thrive by feeling safe, loved, and nurtured. It is our goal to provide an environment that makes children feel welcomed and at home. In our program, children will feel genuinely cared for and cherished. We are deeply community based and find a sense of home through neighborhood walks and playing at Bushrod Park.

Hart to Heart Family Daycare and Wonderschool is located in a spacious, cozy single family home in the Santa Fe neighborhood.

We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include block area (for gross motor skills and problem solving), reading / cozy area (for literacy, relaxation, and respite), and music and movement area (for physical activity and cultural learning).

Children will have some outdoor time everyday in my private yard or outdoor space. Children need space to run, jump, and move! We have a garden bed. that is currently blooming lettuce and greens. The children enjoy nibbling from here when they are playing outside.

At Hart to Heart Family Daycare and Wonderschool, I want to provide a loving home away from home.
