Here at Honeybee Forest School our philosophy is provide a safe space for handwork and nature connection within Los Angeles. We strive to provide an opportunity for children to spend more time outdoors developing a deeper understanding of the natural world. We also offer daily opportunities to engage in handwork crafts. This is something special that sets our program apart from others. In our program we hope to nurture a greater respect and love for nature and a deeper connection to head, heart, and hands.
Về chương trình của chúng tôi
Honeybee Forest School meets in the northeast area of Los Angeles. Our program is inspired by Waldorf and Coyote Mentoring emergent curriculum approaches. We believe that infants and toddlers thrive in small group family-style blended-age care, while older children see nurturing modeled by the adults and experience their own place in the continuum of growing up. We are largely a child-led and play centered, but we do focus on incorporating a few key areas into our program. These include developmentally appropriate naturalist studies, handwork, sustainability practices, yoga, mindfulness, bilingual music, bilingual literature appreciation, cooking skills, and gardening. experience healthy life rhythms/routines. Our rhythm of the day includes the “nurturing arts” of rest and play, regular meal times, exploring nature, practical/domestic activities, social creativity, music and simple artistic activities.
