Pwofesè nou yo

Hello, I am Rosa and I have been running Little Gifts Wonderschool for 2 years now. I was inspired to open my own program when I became a mother myself and realized I wanted to spend time with my boys while also providing them a quality education. My goal is to make a difference in children’s lives while helping them have fun and relating to them and their interests.

I am pursuing training/certification as a part of my professional development. I am excited to be learning and growing as an ECE professional.

Outside of working with children, I also love reading, doing DIY projects, and organizing and decorating my home.

Filozofi

Little Gifts Wonderschool is a play-based program with a family feel where we believe children learn a variety of subjects, emotions, expressions, and academics all through play. We want children to feel important, capable of anything they set their mind to, and, most importantly, loved.

Kote

We are located in a single-family home in the Garden Grove neighborhood. We are very blessed to live in a neighborhood that is safe, friendly, and established. All of our neighbors have lived here for a while so we have great long-standing relationships with each other.

The closest freeways are the 22, 91, and 5 for easy transport to and from our program.

We are big on outdoor time and offer it daily to the kids in our spacious backyard. We also take mini field trips to the park, and/or morning walks around our closed block to get fresh air.

Children learn through structured and unstructured play time in our program. We have a variety of toys and materials available, including puzzles and puppets; a well-stocked and ever-updated arts-and-crafts center; and play kitchen and food.

Outside, we have scooters, age-appropriate bicycles, a see-saw, and a playhouse.

Our kids love learning about and playing with our pet hamster, Snowball!

Relationships

Building trusted relationships with our kids is extremely important to us. We help them become independent while encouraging them to step outside their comfort zones. We learn about each and every child’s unique personality and encourage them to be themselves. As educators, we are always striving to be the best we can be to inspire the kids and serve as excellent role models.

We teach respect in our program. Listening is an important social emotional skill that promotes empathy and cooperation.

We also build relationships with our parents through open and consistent communication.

Meals

We believe children deserve warm, delicious home-cooked meals made with love. We serve three meals and two snacks a day. We are big on making smoothies, incorporating as many fruits and veggies as possible.
