Hi! I’m Telma and I have 18 years of experience working with young children. I’ve cared for children from 2 months old to 2 years old as a nanny before starting my own child care program. I started Chiquitos because I wanted to spend more time with my 3 children while also being able to provide and care for my family.
I’m originally from Guatemala and moved to the US in 1994. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking homemade meals, going to the park, and reading books with my children.

Filosofía
Chiquitos Wonderschool is a Spanish bilingual, play-based program where we encourage kids to explore the world around them and teach them to care for each other.
Ubicación
Chiquitos Wonderschool is located in Daly City near the 280 Freeway and just down the street from the Lincoln Park Community Center. Children will spend time at the local park or in our spacious backyard where we have created a great environment for exploration. We love our outdoor area where the children get to play games and be creative.

At Chiquitos, we believe play and fun are the best way to learn. We want all children to enjoy their time in our program, spending lots of time in the yard playing, planting, and dancing. Our kids sing and read; ultimately we want them to be happy. Through play, they will learn their shapes, colors, numbers, and more.
We also emphasize social emotional learning. Children are encouraged to learn to cooperate, communicate, and play with each other.
We provide healthy, fresh food for meals and snacks.
Our program is Spanish bilingual, taught by native Spanish speakers. It is important to us to incorporate Spanish in the classroom because it is a part of our culture. We are excited to introduce a new language to the children who have no Spanish experience. We practice listening and speaking skills in both English and Spanish throughout the day (for example, we will talk about “lions” and “leones”).
Additionally, we offer drop-in care services for parents in the local community who may require emergency childcare or immediate assistance. At Chiquitos, we stand ready to support families in every aspect of their childcare needs, ensuring peace of mind and flexibility for all.

3. Submit an Enrollment Application
If you would like to enroll, please submit an application. Please note that we require tours for all prospective families. Please do not submit an application if you have not visited the program.
4. Enroll
After reviewing your application, we’ll send an enrollment invitation. Upon accepting your invitation you’ll pay your enrollment fee, fill out enrollment documents and review our Parent Handbook.
