At Wonderschool, we offer access to the tools needed to develop a well-rounded web presence. Discoverability helps parents find child care near them. To help teachers interested in starting or growing their child care, we've created a step-by-step social media toolkit for our providers. Our kit, most of which is exclusive to Wonderschool providers, is based on years of experience in helping providers grow their program and guided by experts in social media.

The Wonderschool Social Media kit includes a series of tip sheets, webinars, and templates that provide an essential structure for connecting social media elements, to help build your online profile, guidelines for developing a social media plan and policy. 

Getting started can be the most challenging part, so here's a guide for child care providers to take the first step of linking their Wonderschool website to popular platforms. Just have your Wonderschool Url copied and ready to go. You can log in here to find it or go to your dashboard and copy and paste the address. 

GOOGLE MY BUSINESS

Google is the leading place parents will discover your program and how close it is to them, which is one of the biggest draws.

  • Go to www.google.com/business/ and login using your business ID.
  • Get the business ID when you claim your listing (instructions on Page 1 of this guide!)
  • Once logged in, click on the ‘Info’ tab on the left-hand side menu.
  • In the ‘Info’ section, all your business details will be listed.
  • Scroll down to the ‘Add Website’ option and click on the pencil icon next to it.
  • In the dialog box that pops up, enter your wonderschool url (you can log in here to find it) and click on ‘Apply’.
  • Now your website will be linked to your GMB profile, and will be visible to searchers online.
  • Send link to friends and parents for reviews.
FACEBOOK Facebook connects you to local parent groups and is great for sharing events too. 
  • Go to: www.facebook.com/ pages/create
  • Click your "Name" in the top right corner
  • Click "About" under your profile picture
  • Click "Edit" in the Contact Info section.
  • Paste your Wonderschool URL in the Website box.
  • Click "Save" to update your information.
INSTAGRAM

Instagram uses images instead of words to showcase your program. You can also do live and saved stories for special moments that you think parents may enjoy watching.

YELP Yelp is where many people rely on reviews of businesses to make decisions. Word of mouth is crucial to child care businesses since parents trust other parents.
  • Go to: https://business.yelp.com/
  • Go to the Business Information tab.
  • Click 'Add' or 'Edit' beside each section.
  • Fill out as much information as possible
  • Click 'Save' changes.
  • Send link to friends and parents for reviews.

NEXTDOOR

Nextdoor connects you to families within blocks of your program and keeps you informed of local happenings too.

  • Go to: https://nextdoor.com/choose_address/
  • Switched or logged in to your Nextdoor business account
  • Select ‘Your Page’ from the menu panel on the left.
  • Make your desired changes to the sections- and add your Wonderschool website under "Website".
  • All information will be automatically saved after it is entered.
  • You can select ‘Preview’ at the top of the page to view how your Business Page will appear to Nextdoor neighbors.
