Little Butterfly Small School Openings Now!

Where Children Play, Learn, and Grow in San Lorenzo
Openings Now!

Philosophy

As a family child care provider, my goal is to provide a safe, healthy and happy place for children. I aim to create an environment in which children can grow physically, emotionally, cognitively, and socially at their own pace. I believe that children learn through play and benefit from a structured yet flexible schedule. Activities will be offered which stimulate sensory motor development, language development and social interaction. The development of strong self-esteem and respect for oneself and others are also key goals of my program. I value every family who enrolls a child at my school, and I take the responsibility of living up to their expectations and needs.

About Our School

We are a fully licensed home daycare and nurturing child care center. Within our care, we encourage children to discover and learn to become decision makers, problem solvers, and to feel good about themselves. We encourage children to develop themselves in areas of cognition (thinking), language art (talking), literacy (reading), social emotional (relationship), and physical development (moving and doing). We serve children from ages 6 months to 10 years old, allowing your child to play and learn in familiar environment, while also catering to cognitive, social, and physical growth. We offer:

  • Small group and individualized attention
  • Developmentally appropriate curriculum
  • Nutritious meals and snacks
  • Qualify caring and experience staff

Nutrition

We realize how important it is for your child to receive the proper nutrition, so we make every possible effort to make sure their nutritional needs are met. We provide your children with home cooked meals that are high in nutritional value made from only the freshest ingredients. We try to minimize the intake of industrial products and opt for healthy, delicious foods. If your child has any allergies or if you have specific requirements that need to be met, please let us know. We are always happy to discuss the needs of any child and provide individual care. We provide breakfast, morning snack, lunch and two afternoon snack every day.

Discipline

We use redirection in response to unwanted behavior. Redirection is a learning process and not a punishment. Misbehavior will be handled in a firm, consistent and positive manner. Some of these methods may consist of:

  • Providing children with the reasons for limitations
  • Speaking with positive words
  • Helping children express their feeling and frustrations to resolve conflict
  • Arranging equipment, materials, and activities in a way that promotes correct behavior.

No child will be shamed, humiliated, or handled roughly. Absolutely no corporal punishment will be used. Our philosophy is to redirect behavior to help children gain respect for each other and themselves.
