Our Teachers

Our team is Miss Lily, and her husband Mr. Ashton. Miss Lily will be the primary teacher of the classroom as Mr. Ashton does work at Fred Meyers as a manager. However when Mr. Ashton is not at work he will be with Miss Lily and the children either prepping meals, helping with circle time, taking the kids to outside time, or just helping out in general in the classroom when he can.

Philosophy

Our program is focused on social-emotional development/growth, reading skills, music, and being Kindergarten ready. We follow Teaching Strategies Creative Curriculum.

Location

Our location is on the West Boise Bench. We are off of Maple Grove and Emerald. We are close to Hyatt Hidden Lakes Reserve, Mariposa Park, Florence Park, and Fairmont Park, which can all be great for getting out into nature!

About our program

Hi my name is Lily, and I’ve been working in childcare since I was seventeen. I attended early childhood education classes at College of Western Idaho, as well as music classes. I have always had a passion for working with children, and I believe that a love of learning should be established from a young age. I take aspects from play-based, nature-based, Montessori, and traditional learning methods, to create a classroom environment where each child feels valued, important, and thrives. I take social-emotional learning very seriously, as how children learn to handle their feelings now, will be how they handle it for the rest of their lives. I also believe music is not only important for gross and fine motor skills and math, but it is amazing for social-emotional health. Each morning we will do a morning circle with plenty of songs, identify our feelings(say “I” statements, sing a feelings song, or simply talk about how our morning has been), learn about the weather, talk about our current unit we’re working on, do our mighty minutes, and then we will break for morning groups. We will also do a goodbye circle at 3:00pm as a recap of our day. Each family will receive a letter talking about what we are learning in each unit as I truly believe school-family partnerships are crucial to a child’s learning.
