Hello! I am Leonor Velazquez, the founder of Munchkins Care Wonderschool. Welcome and thank you for taking your time to meet and greet or simply checking out my daycare page. I was inspired to start an in-home early learning center because it has always been my dream to design my own space where children can blossom and grow. I have 8 years of experience working with young children. We spend our days learning, sharing, and growing inside my converted, insulated garage redesigned specifically for your children.

Our mission at Munchkins Care is to provide a safe and happy place for children where they can learn, grow, and play and feel like at home. We believe children learn through play and benefit from a structured yet flexible schedule. Activities will be offered which stimulates sensory, motor development, language development and cognitive skills. The development of social-emotional intelligence will also be fostered while here at Munchkins Care. Children will be taught to respect themselves, friends, family and their community. I look forward to the opportunity to share more about Munchkins Care with you!

My son was only two months when we enrolled him, he’s now 8months and it’s the BEST decision we made. My son attended Leos Munchkin Care from the time he was 6 months to his 2nd year. If it was not for moving areas my son would still be attending. He loved waking up each morning and going to school. At Munchkins Care Wonderschool, we are inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, which values the child as strong, capable and resilient; rich with wonder and knowledge. Children are curious by nature. The Munchkins Care Wonderschool environment is designed to respect, honor, and foster the curious mind of a child by providing them with open-ended, natural materials and learning experiences to assist them with understanding not just their world but also who they are in it.

Munchkins Care Wonderschool is located in a welcoming, inviting single family home in the River Lakes Trial neighborhood.

Children will spend about half of their time outdoors at mix of both my private yard and local parks and playgrounds. Children need space to run, jump, and move!

At Munchkins Care Wonderschool, I want to provide an environment that supports the cognitive, social, and emotional growth of each child.

Some of our weekly scheduled activities include visiting the Hurst Public Library and the Trinity River Farm & Equestrian Center. We can walk to both places! We spend our days learning through intentional yet playful experiences inside and outside of our Early Learning space.

3. Submit an Enrollment Application

If you would like to enroll, please submit an application. Please note that we require tours for all prospective families. Please do not submit an application if you have not visited the program.

4. Enroll

After reviewing your application, we’ll send an enrollment invitation. Upon accepting your invitation you’ll pay your enrollment fee, fill out enrollment documents and review our Parent Handbook.
