Erin realized her dream of running an in home child care in 2012 after the birth of her 3rd child. Even though her education background is in psychology, she finds that many aspects of her education also work with early child development. She loves being able to build relationships with the children and their families. She find being able to watch children learn and grow very rewarding.

We, at Sugar & Spice believe that our program and services offer developmentally appropriate curriculum and we strive to enhance social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth in young children. Our program fosters curiosity, creativity and self-esteem by taking into account children’s abilities and intrests. Child initiated and teacher supported play is an essential component of our program.

We’re in the Cooper Mountain - Aloha South neighborhood in the Beaverton school district, on a quiet cul-de-sac that backs to a beautiful green space. We offer transportation to Errol Hassel, Aloha-Huber Park, Hazeldale and Hiteon. There are many wonderful parks and nature areas that we like to explore.

I believe that quality early care and education is a partnership between parents and provider. At Sugar and Spice, it is my mission to partner with parents, and to provide children with age and developmentally appropriate activities and materials in a safe, loving environment where they are free to explore and learn. Sugar and Spice is a play based program. I believe that at this developmental stage, it is not ‘teachers’ children need to help them learn, but loving, responsive relationships with caregivers, based on respect for the child and his or her family. At Sugar and Spice, your child will have the opportunity to explore and grow, create and discover, build relationships with his or her peers, and become confident learners.

2. Tour our program Come see what makes Sugar & Spice Child Care unique. If we are currently hosting tours, you can request or schedule a tour at the top of this page. If we are not currently hosting tours, you’ll see a “Request Info” button at the top of this page; if you submit your information using this button, we will notify you when we start host tours again in the future.

3. Submit an Enrollment Application If you’re interested in enrolling, submit an application by selecting Apply to enroll. If this option if not available, you can message the program director. Please do not apply to enroll until you have set up a tour and visited the program.
