Owner Bio – Krystina Palacios, Founder & Director, Desert Bloom Academy LLC
Krystina Palacios is an experienced early childhood professional, licensed educator, and community advocate with over a decade of experience in child development and program leadership. She holds a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential and has successfully led multiple nationally accredited 5-Star FOCUS programs in New Mexico, guiding educators through NECPA accreditation, curriculum design, and the implementation of high-quality standards in early learning environments.
Her work at The Children’s Garden as Center Director ignited her passion for quality improvement and inclusive education. Through hands-on leadership and collaboration with state initiatives, Krystina developed a deep understanding of how strong systems, empowered educators, and family partnerships create lasting community impact.
In 2025, she founded Desert Bloom Academy LLC, a 5-Star early learning and youth enrichment center in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Designed to merge STEAM-based exploration, farm-to-table learning, and cultural connection, Desert Bloom Academy reflects her vision for a center where every child can bloom through knowledge and imagination.
Guided by her experience as both an educator and a mother, Krystina’s mission is to build an environment that nurtures growth—for children, families, and the next generation of educators—ensuring Desert Bloom Academy becomes a cornerstone of educational excellence and opportunity in the community.

What makes our program unique is the way we truly slow down and connect with children. We focus on recognizing feelings, supporting emotions, and helping children feel safe, heard, and understood. We believe that when children feel secure in who they are, everything else in learning starts to fall into place.
We also create space for families to be part of that experience. We offer simple family events, seasonal celebrations, and opportunities to come together and build a strong sense of community.
Throughout the day, children explore through music, art, movement, and meaningful interactions that allow them to express themselves in their own way.
Because when children feel understood, they don’t just learn — they bloom. 🌼
