Hello! My name is Tenika (but the children call me Ms. Nikki). I have been providing care for families in Kinston and surrounding areas for almost 20 years. I enjoy working with children and believe I can make a difference in their lives.

At SonShine Christian Child Care, our philosophy encompasses providing a loving, safe, and stimulating Christian environment for young children to learn and grow in. We believe that children are God’s “littlest miracles” and helping them develop self-esteem, confidence, independence, and self-discipline is a divine privilege. Our ultimate mission is to share God’s love and message with all who enter our facility and positively impact the lives of children and families in our community.

Established in 2001, we strive to assist families in nurturing their children spiritually, cognitively, emotionally, socially, and physically based on Biblical principles. Our goals include fostering a love for learning, group activities, motor skills development, and instilling a love for God through daily devotions, Bible stories, and songs. We aim to create a Christian environment that upholds the highest standards, providing challenging opportunities for children to reach their full potential. Parent involvement is integral to our philosophy, as we believe that parents play an essential role in the educational process.

Admisiones

In order to enroll your child at SonShine Christian Child Care, the following steps must be completed in full prior to your child’s first day of care:

Completion of Intake Survey: https://bit.ly/SCCCWaitingList

Parent Interview An in-person meeting to visit our classroom, discuss daily routines, review the Parent Handbook, and determine if the program is a mutual fit.

Completed State Forms & Financial Contract All required enrollment forms and the financial agreement must be thoroughly filled out and signed before your child can begin care. I cannot assume responsibility for your child until all documents are complete—please plan ahead and ensure all forms are submitted before drop-off on the first day.

Food Program Enrollment Form This is required for participation in the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program and must be completed prior to enrollment.

Payment of Enrollment & Supply Fees All fees must be paid in full to secure your child’s space.

DSS Voucher in NC FAST Portal (if applicable) If you are receiving subsidized child care, your voucher must be active in the NC FAST Portal before care begins.
