Our Teachers

About the Teacher : Erin Davis I believe that every child’s path to progress is unique, and for 24 years, I have dedicated my career to being the guide that helps them navigate it. As a Certified Educational Specialist in Autism & Adapted Learning with a Master’s in Literacy, I spent decades in specialized classrooms before realizing that many children—especially neurodivergent explorers—need a different kind of ‘bridge’ than a traditional school can provide. I founded PlayBridge because I am passionate about blending high-level clinical structure with the warmth of a creative studio. Whether I am implementing a TEACCH work system or leading a 1-on-1 Orton-Gillingham session, my goal is the same: to use my expertise to foster the independence and confidence every child deserves. When I’m not in the Clubhouse, you’ll find me reading or just enjoying the sunshine by the beach, always looking for new ways to make learning feel like a breakthrough!

Philosophy

Our philosophy is built on the belief that for a child to learn, their environment must be as structured as their instruction. We utilize a ‘Structured Teaching’ approach (TEACCH), where physical organization and visual schedules provide the safety and clarity neurodivergent children need to thrive. By bridging intentional play with evidence-based literacy intervention (Orton-Gillingham), we focus on the ‘whole child’—building the independence, communication, and confidence they need to navigate the world with success.

Location

PlayBridge Learning Clubhouse is nestled in the quiet residential community on the border of Hampstead, Surf City, and Holly Ridge NC, close to the Surf City Harris Teeter shopping center. This location offers the perfect balance for our families: easy, convenient access for parents on the go, paired with the safety and serenity of a low-traffic neighborhood. Our street is a peaceful, sensory-friendly environment where children can transition calmly from the car to the Clubhouse without the noise and bustle of the main road.”
