I have a BS in Early Childhood Education and have been in education for about 15 years. I have worked in Early Head Start & Kindergarten programs, which sparked my realization of the importance of education and high quality care for the first few years of life, so children can enter kindergarten well-prepared! I have also led trainings for our local school district, and I am also a mother of two children. I love working with young children because of their enthusiasm to learn and discover. Watching a child grasp a concept and learn something new is one of the most special parts of my work.

We are a play-based program and use the Mississippi Beginnings Curriculum. We strive to prepare all children to enter Kindergarten at a high level. We follow a daily schedule, beginning with circle time, group activities to support literacy & a love of learning, activities with manipulatives to support gross & fine motor development, activities to support writing, art, outdoor & nature discovery, and so much more!

We are located in Southaven, MS near Goodman Road. Our neighborhood is very quiet & safe, and we have a fenced-in backyard where children can explore outside.

I am a registered in-home program that serves up to 5-children. This allows me to support all the children 1:1 and small, intimate group size activities. As our program grows and develops, we will continue to focus on community-building activities and creating more ways to support all children.

It is our vision at the Academy Experience to promote the healthy growth & development of children and offer support for families by providing high quality & developmentally appropriate childcare.

Our mission is to ensure that all children are school-ready. It is important to maximize each child’s potential in an active, collaborative learning environment where children, families & education become empowered by social, emotional & academic success.
