Philosophy
My philosophy of education is that all children are unique and must have a simulating educational environment where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and socially. I believe in developing and valuing the child in its biopsychosocial axis in order to create individuals that generates a positive future. This philosophy is based on the premise that every person finds their identity and meaning of life through links with the community and the natural world. It is my desire to create an atmosphere where students can meet their full potential.
Our mission is to offer every student an exceptional personalized and developmentally appropriate education which fosters social/emotional, intellectual, and physical growth while providing a foundation for a life-long love of learning. We serve our children, families, staff, and communities in a manner that positively impacts their lives. We promote an educational development to awaken in children, the ability to recognize their faculties and potential for creative, academic, socioemotional, physical and language development. We also strive to develop respect for people and the environment that surrounds them, nurture self esteem and personality, and promote the practice of values. We are committed to providing the individualized attention that encourages each child to grow and develop to their fullest potential.
About our program
The environment of Habitat Early Learning promotes socioemotional development where we play, share and make friends, while learning to love and respect each other. We have created an area that allows children to learn while also putting into practice the values and attitudes of responsibility for people and environment. This approach to learning, called Holistic Education, connects all areas of a child’s life and recognizes that all aspects of the child’s growth are interconnected. Holistic Education helps the child build connections with the natural world, to understand our role and dependence on nature, honors the child’s spiritual growth, and honors and respects the beliefs of the child’s family and culture. Our holistic space uses Doterra and/or Young Living essential oil aromatherapy as a part of our routine. Habitat Early Learning also incorporates Full Spanish Immersion where all activities are in Spanish, rather than teaching Spanish as a separate subject. Studies have shown that Bilingual brains process information better.
We use the WINGS and GELDS Curriculum.
