Our Teachers

Hello, my name is Lesia Harper Crichlow and I am the Founder/Director of Bright Kids Academy Inc. Childcare. I was inspired to start my own program because I saw a need for high-quality care in my community. I have a degree in Early Childhood Development, Education and Management. We specialize in Christian Academic Excellence offering customized childcare plans with extended hours in a nurturing environment where we learn, share, laugh and grow. I am a wife and the super proud mother of two adult children ages 32 and 22. My 32 year old is an attorney in the Tampa, FL area and my 22 year old is a senior at the University of Central Florida.

I have worked in the social services field for more than 35 years with every age group. I have always had a special love for children and worked with them for many years in several voluntary positions from being a Sunday school teacher to mentoring at risk teenage girls. I am a Notary Public and a Licensed CPR Instructor with the American Heart Association. I am a Certified Mentor for Florida Family Child Care Homes and Business Leadership Institute. At Bright Kids Academy Inc. we help children develop a love for learning and ready children for lifelong success. Bright Kids Academy’s students excel in all subject areas and are prepared for kindergarten and beyond. I am super excited to have the opportunity to work with you and your family and make a difference in the lives of our upcoming generation. I am looking forward to us working and growing together.

Our teachers have experience, are passionate and highly-trained in helping your child learn and grow. Your child will get the individual attention they need as a result of our low student to teacher ratio and we provide the best child care possible. All staff members meet or exceed state training and credentialing requirements and are CPR and First Aid Certified.

Philosophy

At Bright Kids Academy, Inc., we believe that children grow, learn, and thrive by feeling safe, loved, and nurtured. It is our goal to provide an environment that helps prepare children to thrive in school and the broader world. In our program, children will feel genuinely cared for and cherished. We at Bright Kids Academy believe a child’s early experiences enrich and stimulate future growth. Children deserve to be treated and respected as individuals in an environment that welcomes reason, exploration, question, and imagination. We respect each child’s need for love, security, acceptance, warmth, and stimulation. We protect the health and welfare of all children. We also facilitate their safe physical, intellectual, motor and social development.

We provide exceptional child care while fostering well-rounded children by introducing:

• Learning based on the six stages of early development
• Incorporating S.T.E.A.M. activities and more to promote intellectual growth, along with physical well-being and social development.
• Enrichment Courses: Physical Education, Art, and Music are included giving children opportunities to expand upon their interests during their daily experiences and promote a healthy and active lifestyle. Introduction of foreign languages: Spanish and Sign language to expand your child’s IQ, communication and social skills.
• Family Atmosphere: We are a family where the whole school, not just the teachers but also all other members of the staff, know your child personally.

Bright Kids Academy, Inc. is located in a welcoming, bright center in the City Beautiful Orlando, Florida.

We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include block area (for gross motor skills and problem solving), dramatic play area (for self-expression and empathy), and reading / cozy area (for literacy, relaxation, and respite).

At Bright Kids Academy, Inc., We want to provide an environment that supports the cognitive, social, and emotional growth of each child.

Children will have some outdoor time everyday in our private outdoor space. Children need space to run, jump, and move!

Distancing and Classroom Size: We will practice physical distancing by reducing classroom sizes, keeping consistent groupings, and limiting outdoor play limited to one group at a time.

Health Screenings, frequent cleaning and disinfecting: Our staff performs daily health screens and temperature checks on adults and children arriving at the center. Our attention to cleanliness is an obsession. Examples include: Frequent cleaning and disinfecting of high-touch surfaces, toys, and laundered items. Air purification systems ensure that even the air is clean!

Updated Visitor Policy: Essential visitors, including families dropping off and picking up, will be limited to the lobby. Nonessential visitors will not be permitted in the center.

Security for your child is our top priority: A commitment to security is supported by a single point of entry/exit. Through use of video cameras and electronically locked doors we offer peace of mind to families.

4. Enroll

After reviewing your application, we’ll send an enrollment invitation. Upon accepting your invitation you’ll pay your enrollment fee, fill out enrollment documents and review our Parent Handbook.
