Hello! I am Mercedes Mejia, the founder of Mejia Family Child Care Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because it has always been my dream to design my own space where children can blossom and grow. I have 22 years of experience working with young children.

Filosofía

Here at Mejia Family Child Care Wonderschool, it is my goal to create a family-like environment, where children are able to learn from each other. Here, children will be in a space where everyone feels safe and accepted. I encourage children to explore their surroundings to expand their creativity and learn along the way while feeling loved and supported.

I believe that children move through stages of development based on their knowledge and experiences. Furthermore, I recognize that each child is unique and special. Children must have a positive self-concept to become competent learners, so I provide loving care that helps build each child’s self-esteem. I want all of the children in my program to go on to be successful in school and beyond.

Ubicación

Mejia Family Child Care Wonderschool is located in a welcoming, bright single family home in the Sylmar neighborhood.

We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include a block area (for gross motor skills and problem solving), dramatic play area (for self-expression and empathy), and reading / cozy area (for literacy, relaxation, and respite).

Children will have some outdoor time every day in my spacious outdoor classroom. Children need space to run, jump, and move!

2. Tour our program

Come see what makes Mejia Family Child Care Wonderschool unique. Please schedule a tour or attend an Open House event.

3. Submit an Enrollment Application

If you would like to enroll, please submit an application. Please note that we require tours for all prospective families. Please do not submit an application if you have not visited the program.

4. Enroll

After reviewing your application, we’ll send an enrollment invitation. Upon accepting your invitation you’ll pay your enrollment fee, fill out enrollment documents and review our Parent Handbook.
