Welcome to SOMA Montessori Preschool and Daycare.

An important role of the Montessori approach to learning and Montessori teachers/guides/educators is to record the learning and development of your child. As we work with your child, we continually observe and record their interests, abilities and needs. We then plan specific lessons which will support and extend your child’s learning. Family contributions are very important to us and we welcome your ideas, knowledge and comments at any time. It is vital to us that you are kept informed and updated regarding your child’s learning. Our goal in a Montessori educational environment is to guide children how to learn during the critical years of development. This is when children’s receptivity to new concepts is most developing and when core aspects of their personalities are being formed. In a Montessori learning environment children will discover that the will, ability and skills to learn are inside each of them rather than provided externally. This supports a foundation of self-confidence and self-esteem that they will benefit from for the rest of their lives! Our mission is “To create and sustain a multi-cultural Montessori educational experience, one that embraces diversity and that allows each child to develop to their full potential by becoming independent, self-motivating, and responsible global citizens.”
