Playing is learning.
At Mi Casita Azul, we believe that immersion in a project-based learning environment is the best way to teach young children new languages. By engaging in projects, children have the opportunity to experiment with Spanish and explore another culture. Best of all, language acquisition unfolds naturally.
We motivate children through activities designed to develop their social, cognitive, and linguistic proficiencies. Our facility in Noe Valley is in a modern home with a charming backyard containing a vegetable garden, lemon, apple, and cherimoya trees.
Địa điểm
Built in 2015, the school facility is in a dedicated unit in a single family home at 442 29th Street San Francisco, CA 94131. The two large classrooms, napping room, and office have hardwood floors and hold learning centers including a library, play center, and art center. The outdoor patio is outfitted with a painting easel, play table, basketball hoop, tricycles, and an interactive mural that is currently under development. The large backyard has lemon, apple, and cherimoya trees, and the vegetable garden is one of our ongoing project-based activities. Every Wednesday, we take field trips to the Upper Day St. Park playground structure two blocks away.
Về chương trình của chúng tôi
We are a play-based Spanish-immersion preschool. Our students range from 1.5 months to 6 years old (potty training is not required). We maintain a 3:1 student-to-teacher ratio. We provide a healthy, organic lunch and two snacks during the school day.
We offer AFTER-SCHOOL care starting at 3:30pm-5:30pm to all enrolled families. ($0.4 per min)
Parent Involvement
We ask parents to maintain disciplinary methods consistent with our own. We also welcome parents, grandparents, and other relatives to visit and present prepared activities to our students. Generally, parents are not expected to stay beyond drop off or pick up unless previously arranged.
Our Approach to Discipline
We believe in using positivity and praise to foster healthy behaviors and a healthy learning environment. Our goals include teaching children self-control and respect for themselves and others. Our constructive techniques include redirection, anticipation, modeling, natural consequences, elimination of potential problems, and teaching children to resolve conflicts on their own in an appropriate manner.
