Hello! I am Meera, the founder and head teacher of Innovative Explorers. I was inspired to start my own program because I have loved working with children since I was young. I have 12 years of experience working with young children.
I was working as a clinical psychologist in India, working with children in schools. When I moved to the United States I began working in mathematics with children. For the past five years I have been a Head Math Teacher for children aged 3 - 12 years old. I have been trained in project-based learning for young children.
As I now focus on preschool aged, I am excited to bring elements of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) to my preschool curriculum. Our program will incorporate aspects of hands-on and project based learning.

“Dear Ms. Meera,
I think Gyuvin learned to think logically from you. And he likes math because of you. Thank you for everything you’ve done for Gyuvin.
Sincerely, Eunju” (7/18/2018)
“Meera is very patient, gentle and listens to the kids. It is child led approach where the kids learn by exploring and asking questions. They also go at their pace. She has partnered with wonder school and they provide a great platform for preschool and parents. The parents can get updates through their app, pay the fees and view the photos.
My daughter loves this school. Some of the reason my daughter loves this school is because
- She is not forced in doing activity
- Meera is gentle and will always ask nicely
- She discovers things on her own and completes at her pace instead of being rushed. Hence she has prolonged interest in activities.
We unfortunately could not continue as we had to move.” - Megana, 2019
Filosofía
At Innovative Explorers, we believe that children grow, learn, and thrive by exploring the world around them. It is our goal to provide an environment that helps each child to feel confident and capable. In our program, children will feel genuinely cared for and cherished.
My program follows a play-based philosophy. I believe that children learn social, cognitive, and emotional skills by exploring new experiences. My environment is responsive to the children in our care, and allows children’s own interests to help facilitate their learning and engagement.
Come join us for a tour! (and if you’d like to request a different time just click the “Contact School” button to the right, which will email me. We look forward to meeting you and your family!)
Ubicación
Innovative Explorers is located in a bright, warm, welcoming single family home in the Danbury Park neighborhood.
We’ve thoughtfully designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include sensory area (for spatial awareness and learning through the five senses), manipulatives and math area (for fine motor skills and beginning math concepts), dramatic play area (for self-expression and empathy), and block area (for gross motor skills and problem solving).
Children will have some outdoor time everyday a mix of my private yard and local parks and playgrounds. Connecting with nature lets children gain deeper knowledge of themselves and the world.
At Innovative Explorers, I want to provide an environment that supports the cognitive, social, and emotional growth of each child.
Acerca de nuestro programa
My program follows a play-based philosophy. Where children will learn social, cognitive and emotional skills by exploring new experiences. I encourage children to explore many different activities at there own pace. I help children develop their curiosity and creativity, which is a valuable skill that will help them throughout their lives.
At Innovative Explorers we pride ourselves on delicious and nutritious home cooked food! Some of our favorites are lentil pancakes, idli, sweet potatoes and yams, fruits, garbanzo beans, and a variety of (mostly) Indian food. The Innovative Explorers menu includes foods that contain carbohydrates and protein. Everything your child needs to grow and develop! Our kids love the food and we believe this is a great way to encourage exploration.
