Hello! I am Maria Baquiax, the founder of Happy Village Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because I saw a need for high-quality care in my community. I have 27 years of experience working with young children: 10 years as a nanny and 17 years running my own in-home child care program. I also raised two wonderful kids of my own who are now college-educated adults in the workforce. Throughout the years, I have taken many classes in early childhood education and believe in the importance of always learning best practices in child development.

I currently work with two fantastic female assistants who support my program throughout the day. We provide a Spanish-bilingual education to our diverse group of little ones. I am from Peru and love learning about other backgrounds and cultures. We welcome all families into our loving home.

Filosofía

At Happy Village Wonderschool, we believe in the importance of a high-quality early childhood education. We keep children in our program healthy, happy and safe by offering low ratios between child care providers and children so that each young child can get the love and attention they need to flourish. We provide plenty of age-appropriate learning materials in our classroom that we’ve thoughtfully designed with distinct learning areas.

Throughout the year, children engage in a wide variety of stimulating activities, from themed arts & crafts projects and music time to interactive lessons and dramatic play. It is important to us that children have a variety of opportunities to express their natural creativity. Children here are never bored!

Since it truly takes a village to raise a child, we partner closely with parents to ensure that each individual child’s needs are met in our program. We have been happily running our in-home child care program for nearly 20 years and have never had a single citation or complaint from state licensing on our record. Ubicación

Happy Village Wonderschool is located in a welcoming, bright single family home in the Mid-city neighborhood.

We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include a block area (for gross motor skills and problem solving), dramatic play area (for self-expression and empathy), and reading / cozy area (for literacy, relaxation, and respite).

Children will have some outdoor time every day in my spacious backyard. Children absolutely love spending time in our colorful outdoor classroom designed for hours of activity.

At Happy Village Wonderschool, I want to provide a loving home away from home.

2. Tour our program

Come see what makes Happy Village Wonderschool unique. If we are currently hosting tours, you can request or schedule a tour at the top of this page. If we are not currently hosting tours, you’ll see a “Request Info” button at the top of this page; if you submit your information using this button, we will notify you when we start host tours again in the future.

3. Submit an Enrollment Application

If you would like to enroll, please submit an application at www.wonderschool.com/happy-village-wonderschool-5135/apply – note that we require tours for all prospective families. Please do not submit an application if you have not visited the program.

4. Enroll

After reviewing your application, we’ll send an enrollment invitation. Upon accepting your invitation you’ll pay your enrollment fee, fill out enrollment documents and review our Parent Handbook.
