Hello! I am Socorro Cortez, the founder of Cortez Family Child Care Wonderschool. I was inspired to start my own program because I saw a need for high-quality care in my community. I have 27 years of experience working with young children.
Prior to moving to Koreatown, I ran a very successful in-home child care program in Echo Park in my large home. I’ve worked with hundreds of children throughout the years and still love what I do every day.

At Cortez Family Child Care Wonderschool, I want all children to feel safe, loved and nurtured. I provide an atmosphere that is bright and organized so that children feel invited to play in this comfortable environment. I encourage children to follow their own interests while also providing a daily routine. It is my hope that all children in my early education program will be prepared for success in school and beyond.

Cortez Family Child Care Wonderschool is located in a welcoming, charming apartment in the Koreatown neighborhood near Echo Park and Westlake. We are off the 101 freeway and easily accessible from many parts of town. We are surrounded by several schools and churches in our family-friendly community.
Children will have safe outdoor time every day at a local park or playground or on walks in and around our building. At Cortez Family Child Care Wonderschool, I want to provide a loving home away from home.

We’ve provided information about our philosophies and offerings to help you decide if our program may be right for your family.
2. Tour our program
Come see what makes Cortez Family Child Care Wonderschool unique. If we are currently hosting tours, you can request or schedule a tour at the top of this page. If we are not currently hosting tours, you’ll see a “Request Info” button at the top of this page; if you submit your information using this button, we will notify you when we start host tours again in the future.
3. Submit an Enrollment Application
If you would like to enroll, please submit an application – note that we require tours for all prospective families. Please do not submit an application if you have not visited the program.
4. Enroll
After reviewing your application, we’ll send an enrollment invitation. Upon accepting your invitation you’ll pay your enrollment fee, fill out enrollment documents and review our Parent Handbook.
