Hello!

I am Charlotte Acevedo, the founder of Joyful Zen Preschool. I was inspired to start our program after having my son Zen. It has been my dream ever since to create a magical space where children can blossom and grow. The best practice in connecting with children for me has come from being a parent. I now have over 5 years experience working with young children and work along other wonderful early childhood educators who will work along side me to give your child the best preparation for first grade. I’m excited for all the learning and play 2023 will bring and eager to meet all the joyful kiddos enrolling in our new program this year!

Filosofía

At Joyful Zen Preschool, we believe that children grow, learn, and thrive by feeling safe, loved, and nurtured. It is our goal to provide an environment that engages children with developmentally-appropriate activities and materials. In our program, children will feel genuinely cared for and cherished within a language immersive, Montessori inspired program.

Ubicación

Joyful Zen Preschool is located in a welcoming, safe home in the Burbank neighborhood.

We’ve designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include a reading / cozy area (for literacy, relaxation, and respite), a sensory area (for spatial awareness and learning through the five senses), and a dramatic/symbolic play corner. This area includes anything that gets the children out and symbolizing what they’re seeing in the world.

Children will spend about half of their time outdoors in our private outdoor space. Children need space to run, jump, and move!

At Joyful Zen Preschool, I provide an enriching environment where children feel free to explore and play.

Acerca de nuestro programa

As a parent, I understand what it is to want the best for our children and it is a dream of mine to extend that opportunity to other like-minded families. In our program, children will have the chance to thrive academically, creatively, physically and socially with a focus on building a foundation that helps create empathy and kindness. Some of the certified instructors will have extensive childhood education background in Montessori teaching and psychology which guides our program. Whether it be learning teamwork and life skills with professional soccer coaches, gaining confidence and discipline through martial arts, or expanding creativity and imagination with art and music - at Joyful Zen Preschool we will make sure every second counts towards creating thriving, successful, happy children.

We’ve provided information about our philosophies and offerings to help you decide if our program may be right for your family.

2. Tour our program

Come see what makes Joyful Zen Preschool unique. If we are currently hosting tours, you can request or schedule a tour at the top of this page. If we are not currently hosting tours, you’ll see a “Request Info” button at the top of this page; if you submit your information using this button, we will notify you when we start host tours again in the future.

3. Submit an Enrollment Application

If you would like to enroll, please submit an application at www.wonderschool.com/joyful-zen-preschool-5746/apply – note that we require tours for all prospective families. Please do not submit an application if you have not visited the program.

4. Enroll

After reviewing your application, we’ll send an enrollment invitation. Upon accepting your invitation you’ll pay your enrollment fee, fill out enrollment documents and review our Parent Handbook.
